If you’re up to enjoying something like the top chops of Hollywood movies yet would want to try out something new then here’s something you ought to try checking. The Dogs of China Town a film by Micah Moore and stars Eric Jocobus and Ray Carbonel, together with the rest of the Stunt People has definitely set interests with a new yet more enthralling action pack film that is a sure must see. One proof why this film is so sizzling is that it just won Best Action Film for the 2009 Fright Night Film Fest.

If you haven’t seen any of the movies by these people then you’re missing half of your life. It seems that they have done film for almost any genres (all, take note, are action pack) with real and precise martial arts action, taken up close and delivered real to the max, we can definitely say this is one for the sleepy movie goers—they are sure to get there adrenaline pumped up!

The Dogs of China Town shows the film focuses on Jack (Eric Jacobus) who is being groomed to be the top assassin for the Triad. He enters the story as Boss Wu’s man to infiltrate the Italian Mafia as a war breaks between them. However Jack ends up falling in love with the boss’ favorite mistress thus getting him to fight both sides as he must defend himself and the woman he loves.

Besides the gansta, criminal records, feel for a story line, the martial arts action, is one of the best assets of the film. There’s this underlying thrill in every kick and punch they do. The fight scenes were choreographed well by Jacobus and Carbonel that things heat up with every sequence. The realistic display of martial arts at lengthy shots was perfect that every action was noted for.

Ghost – A Love Story Movie Review

“Ghost” is one of the most popular romantic movies of all time and it frequently appears near the top of the list for popular romantic movies and favorite movies for women. The emotional pull of the movie is provided by the yearning of the two lovers to be together despite the death of one of the partners.

Ghost was directed by Jerry Tucker and the leading characters are played by Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze, with a strong supporting role for Whoopie Goldberg, who won an Academy Award for her performance in this role. To date, it has earned more than $500 million worldwide and a stage production is scheduled to open in the West End in 2010.

Although there is a dramatic storyline which includes the murder of the husband, Sam (played by Patrick Swayze) and an attempt by the villain to harm the wife, Molly (Demi Moore) as well Sam’s friend, Oda Mae (Whoopie Goldberg), the real heart of the movie lies with the loving intimacy of Sam and Molly, both before and after his death.

There are a number of moving and tender moments as Sam’s spirit attempts to make physical contact with Molly. One unforgettable scene has Molly seated at a potters wheel, shaping clay and she senses his lingering, loving embrace. The song “Unchained Melody” beautifully captures the feelings of the pair at this moment.

The “real world” plot involves Sam’s friend, Carl, a co-worker at the bank where Sam was employed and who was responsible for Sam’s death. Carl has fraudulently transferred funds to another account, giving him access, and Sam has changed the password on the computer which enables this. Carl wants the new password and stages a robbery to obtain it but, in a scuffle which ensues, Sam is killed.

His spirit remains earthbound and Sam refuses to accompany his escorts to heaven. Instead, he finds a woman who has the psychic ability to hear his voice (Oda Mae) and through her tries to make contact with Molly. Despite her reluctance to be involved, at one point Oda Mae even allows Sam to “possess” her body so he can experience an embrace with Molly.

The plot involving the funds which Carl desperately tries to retrieve provides a necessary, if not entirely gripping framework, around which much of the emotional elements revolve.

Finally, all that remains is the tender love of Sam and Maggie after the villain has been vanquished. What do they – can they – do now? This is a special moment for them and the outcome has the audience in tears.

iTunes organize music, I have used many of the programs that claim to organize my iTunes library. But there is one program that has actually do this for me. Don’t waste your time manually organizing your iTunes.

A few weeks ago I was looking for a program that would help my iTunes organizing music chore. There is a lot of music in my iTunes account, and even more duplicate copies and things like that which I really wanted to get into order. So I started looking for a program that would do the trick. I wanted this program to iTunes organize music for me. I wanted it to delete duplicate copies so I didn’t have to do that manually, I also wanted some album art to help me find the music I was looking for, and I wanted it to be able to do all of this without my help!

After failing to find a program that would do all of what I just explained I kept looking, and was hoping to find one that I would have zero buyers remorse with! I wanted to literally set it and forget it. I found a program that was called TidySongs. They claimed that they could do everything I was looking for, so I tried the download, and gave it a whorl.

This thing was great, I pressed start and away it went. It took a few hours to completely organize my itunes music! I was so happy I didn’t even mind spending a little bit to get the full version. You know they always only want to give you a taste. But is was worth it for this program.

Movies-New on DVD and on Dish

I love the great selection of movies offered with Dish Network’s premium channels especially the films of every genre available with the Starz package. Somehow, no matter how many premium channels I have, I still enjoy the thrill of roaming through the video store for hidden treasures. The movies released to DVD last week weren’t all that interesting to me but I have an unlimited pass at Blockbuster, so I figured I’d get my money’s worth and try a few movies I normally wouldn’t go out of my way to watch.

The first one that I decided to rent was Whiteout. I wanted to watch this in the theater and never did so I was fairly excited to see it. The next one I picked was A Perfect Getaway with Milla Jovovich. A Perfect Getaway was by far the better of the two. I expected Whiteout to have an intriguing plot as the trailers made it seem like this woman was stranded in the middle of nowhere in arctic weather conditions and her life was at stake. I expected suspense and maybe even a little gore. I was very disappointed. The plot was simple and dull and I figured out the “twist” during the first quarter of the movie. The acting was okay but the style was more like a 1980’s action/mystery that wasn’t very difficult to figure out.

A Perfect Getaway was a pleasant surprise. There was a mystery involved in this film that was slightly deeper than the other one. I actually second guessed myself after I was sure who the real killers were- how refreshing! The film took place in Hawaii with a couple on their honeymoon vacation so the setting was beautiful to begin with including waterfalls, bright blue ocean water, caves and beaches. It was a tropical paradise that turned into a nightmare for a few tourists. Milla Jovovich and Steve Zahn were great and it was a fun adventure that beat similar movies such as Six Days and Seven Nights.

So, what should we expect to see on the new release shelf at the video store this week? Here’s a list in order according to what I think looks interesting…

1. Michael Jackson’s This Is It
2. Whip It
3. Surrogates (only because it was filmed in my home town of Worcester, MA)
4. Saw VI
5. Little Ashes (about my favorite artist Salvador Dali)
6. The Donner Party (true story about a group of stranded immigrants who resort to cannibalism to stay alive)
7. Give Me Your Hand

These are the seven movies out of many to be released tomorrow 1/26/10 that seem worth watching. There is also a boatload of movies to check out on the premium movies channels with Dish Network. Check it out:

Last night’s episode of “Hoarders” on A&E on Dish Network

“Hoarders” airs on Monday nights at 10 p.m ET/PT on A&E. A&E can be found on channel 118 on Dish Network. Okay, so watching this show is like watching that accident on the highway – you just can’t look away. To imagine that there are people out there who are actually LIVING like this just boggles my mind. Last night’s episode was probably the worst yet in terms of showing us the mental debilitation of this disease. First we had 21 year-old Jake, who lived with his alcoholic father in a townhouse. The entire place was covered in filth and trash – piles of empty wine bottles, tufts of dog hair everywhere, food wrappers – basically anything you could imagine was there in a pile somewhere.

Jake knew he had a problem and was so frustrated with everything that he saw suicide as his only way out. There were clearly other mental issues going on with Jake. For example, he refused to throw out the dog hair because he felt that in doing so he was speeding up his dog’s life expectancy and would somehow cause her death. That’s not a normal, rational way of thinking. It also didn’t help that his stone-cold drunk father, who initially expressed interest in getting help through his teary confessional to the camera, tried to sabotage the therapist as soon as she showed up, telling his son not to believe a word she said.

He had already hit rock bottom and looked like he was intent on dragging his son down with him. Jake asked his father to leave, and the cleanup began. During the removal process, Jake had serious anxiety and often broke out into crying jags, but he did have fleeting moments where he recognized how ridiculous it was to be living like he was. The therapist on hand was good at working through the process with him, and encouraged him to take matters into his own hands and throw out things that served no purpose and needed to be tossed (such as the aforementioned dog hair.) In the end, the townhouse had been cleaned up, but I think as long as Jake is living with his dad, he will continually be dragged down.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the same behavior just reoccurs. Next we are introduced to 74 year-old Shirley. She lived with her husband Bailey, and her hoarding problem began to spiral out of control after she suffered a stroke and lost her vision in her right eye. The difference with Shirley’s hoarding was that she hoarded cats. She estimated that she had about 20 cats living in the house and the garage, and although most of them didn’t have names, she knew each one. Her house was also ridiculously cluttered with boxes and junk, but unlike other hoarders, it seems that Shirley and her husband were less concerned with those things than they were with the cats (and a few dogs.)

Shirley felt the need to constantly take in more and more strays, and she said that the one thing that gave her joy in life was to rescues the cats and feed them instead of having them roam the streets. Though she couldn’t clearly count exactly how many cats she had, she and her husband seemed to be putting out a lot of food so the cats would have plenty to eat. However, with the limit of six pets per household, Shirley had obviously broken the law and the authorities were called in to clean up and collect the cats. Cats had basically taken over the inside of the house and destroyed it and feral cats were running amok in the garage.

As the crew rummaged through the disaster area, it became clear that there were a lot more than 20 cats in the house. They found many dead cats and kittens and skeletal remains in and under boxes and amongst the junk. In the end, they recovered 76 cats from the house – only 35 of them alive. Shirley was told she could keep 3 cats, but she wanted to keep more. Unfortunately, out of the ten cats that Shirley picked as her “favorites,” nine had to be put down due to a serious respiratory disease from which they were all suffering. In the end, Shirley’s house had been cleaned up and she was allowed to keep three cats. The authorities had decided against pressing any charges against her.

I felt really bad for Shirley and her husband, because I know they didn’t kill those cats on purpose. They were doing the best they could and you could tell they were caring people with good hearts. They were just so overwhelmed that things got out of control and conditions had escalated to a point where no human or animal should have to live in. Hopefully, the next time Shirley wants to help a cat, she should realize that it’s better off going to a shelter where it can get proper care. But I also feel bad that the one thing that gave her comfort and joy was stripped away from her.
